一、impossible的用法

① cannot exist or be done 不可能存在（或做到）的

Eg：She decided not to eat snack every day, but I think it is an impossible things.

她决定每天不吃零食，我认为那是不可能的事。

② very difficult to deal with 很难对付的

Eg：My mother’s behaviours are impossible at times.

妈妈有些行为有时真让人难以忍受。

③ the impossible （似乎）不可能的事

Eg：You know it is an impossible thing but still to try.

明知道是不可能的事情还要去尝试。

④ next-to-impossible 几乎不可能

Eg：She made so much preparations for this test, it is next-to-impossible if not pass.

① fat chance 

这个词多用来强调自己的看法，认为某件事是绝对不可能的。类似的表达还有a slim chance/an outside chance，用了fat就多一层讽刺戏谑的意味。

④ that would be unlikely

Likely是可能的意思，这个词组是那不太可能的、没希望的意思。
